Overview
We were approached by digital & brand agency Turn to help them produce a virtual event for Whatsapp – their ‘Chat for Impact Summit’.
There were two events, each taking place over four days, with up to three simultaneous strands streaming at once. Welcoming key note speakers, panels, interviews and culminating in a live judging competition following workshops run to help entrepreneurs showcase their amazing work with Whatsapp Chat.
Challenges
The biggest challenge for this event was the sheer scale of it. 2 events, each with 4 days of multi-sessions, with up to 3 concurrent streams, we assembled our biggest production team yet. It was important that the Whatsapp brand was forefront across all events, with custom graphics, stings and tiles designed around the content.
For the finale, we welcomed 20+ international entrants who each presented live to a panel of 6 judges, before a winner was selected at the end. This would not have been possible without the flexibility and technology of our remote production studio, which enabled us to manage and brief participants in the background, during the live production.
Outcomes
Despite a myriad of connection and technical issues with the international guests joining, we were able to separate these from the live production to ensure the audience had the best experience, one that reflected the status of a brand like Whatsapp and really showcased the amazing initiatives and charities utilising the Chat facility.
