2 technicians with camera getting ready to stream a event. Live event video production services.

Our story

It started with cameras, cables and coffee.

Fast forward to global speedy internet, throw in 30 years combined experience in media and marketing and voila! Visair was born.

In 2018, we saw an opportunity to make professional live streaming accessible to all. We wanted to challenge the misconception that streaming is too risky or too expensive for the average business.

So far, we’ve helped our clients grow their online presence, host global product launches, communicate in real-time, put their brand on the map, extend their reach and reduce their carbon footprint. We’re only just getting started.

If you want a slice of the live action, please get in touch with us today. We love to hear what you’ve got planned and will be open and honest from the off about the best solution for you.

The benefits of live streaming

We genuinely believe that live streaming events can substantially reduce negative environmental impacts.

By choosing to live stream it is possible to cut down on venue requirements, staff travel, audience travel and food waste. Going entirely remote reduces everyone’s carbon footprint even further and allows audiences to make their own environmental choices by staying at home to participate.

With today’s technology and internet speeds this has become a viable option for all businesses.

Hybrid events will be here to stay and will grow. This is a trend that will be reinforced by sustainability which will create a higher demand. Hybrid will be part of the solution to for the industry in it’s move towards carbon neutrality.

Track record

We’re proud to have supported a huge portfolio of clients, charities and events which have the environment at their heart.

From grass roots organisations to government departments, these events have the power to inspire, innovate and connect.

We believe that getting these messages out to a global audience through live streaming really can make a difference, through changing minds and attitudes, influencing policy and directing funding to the right place.

Environmental Policy

The benchmarks that we follow as we try to become a more sustainable company are the government’s policy of decarbonising all sectors of the UK economy to Net Zero by 2050 and the reducing impact points stated in our Environmental policy.

Visair recognises that reducing our impacts is an on-going process of developments and we look forward to working alongside our suppliers and clients to make continuous improvements. We’re committed to the governments goal of Net Zero by 2050 and dedicated to reviewing our performance on a regular basis.

Our office and remote studio based in Greater Manchester is multi-purpose and the following points below are steps we have taken to reduce our impacts and consumption.

  • All rubbish generated from the office is collected and separated at the recycling centre to ensure everything is recycled.
  • The power that is used in the office is generated by a water turbine on-site. This means the energy that powers our streams is 100% renewable.
  • There are multiple large windows that offer lots of daylight meaning the use of lighting is reduced generally.
  • Wherever possible it is our policy to choose sustainable and or the highest eco-credential products as possible such as toilet roll, cleaning products and day to day items.

We use a lot of hardware, software, and electronic kit in our day-to-day operations therefore, we take steps to lessen its environmental impact.

  • Wherever possible, we aim to repair kit rather than replacing or make updates to hardware or software within existing kit where applicable.
  • When new kit is needed, we aim to purchase second hand where possible.
  • We always dispose of old kit beyond repair in the correct and safest manor.
  • We prioritise British makes and sellers over long distance items when possible

Following these practises we set out below, we’re able to significantly reduce our travel impact.

  • Wherever possible, we encourage our crew to travel by train and public transport to physical events. If a car is needed to travel to a location, we try and car-share when possible.
  • Logistically, it is necessary for us to use a van to transport kit to most events. We request that tables and chairs be supplied by the venue (where appropriate) to ensure the vehicle we travel in does not have to be too large.
  • We always aim to have our crew travel in one vehicle along with the kit.

We work with a wide range of suppliers and partners each year and whilst we cannot control what others do, we aim to choose those whose values reflect our own. This includes continuously reviewing:

  • Venues
  • Online services such as web hosting and internet
  • Banking
  • Freelancers
  • When we hire equipment or supporting services we always prioritise local suppliers

Zero Carbon Strategy

Following the publication of our Environmental Policy in March 2022, we have also put together a Zero Carbon Strategy, intended to outline the meaningful steps which Visair will take to become carbon neutral.

Being a SME presents us with both challenges and opportunities on the path to becoming net zero. Allocating resource and budget can be difficult, particularly where large investments may be needed or there is little choice in the market.

However, as a small business we are able to be flexible in our approach, dynamic in our decision making and ultimately take action for the planet. We also have the opportunity to influence our clients, staff and peers positively with our values and set the bar for future small businesses.

To see a full copy of our Zero Carbon Strategy and find out more about where we are on our journey, just ask!

Record

Every strategy starts with knowing and understanding the problem at hand. For Visair to successfully takes steps towards setting targets to become zero carbon, we first need to record our current emissions consistently and accurately.

audit

Once we have gathered the information above, we will be in a strong position to begin reviewing our carbon footprint as a whole business, looking at every aspect of our impact in detail.

Drive action

With clear actions and goals, we hope to create a realistic and achievable benchmark for Visair and it’s staff to become net zero. Through strong leadership and commitment we will strive to create a better world, so that Visair will leave the world in a better place than before.
